Building a Grain Monitoring System Using Wireless Modules

Wireless data transmission modules are currently widely used in wireless meter reading, industrial data acquisition, wireless remote control systems, fire protection systems, robot control, wireless data communication, digital image transmission, and granary wireless monitoring systems.

1. The wireless module is used in the granary monitoring system

The granary monitoring system mainly completes the functions of collecting and storing parameters such as grain temperature, humidity and gas concentration, transmitting data to the monitoring center, and executing the instructions of the monitoring center. In the traditional granary monitoring system, the granary and the monitoring center mostly use the data communication mode of wired connection such as RS-485, which makes the system poor in anti-interference, numerous connections, and difficult to expand; when a node has a problem, it will affect the entire system, which is not conducive to the monitoring and management of granaries. Therefore, a wireless monitoring system for grain depot based on wireless RF module technology provided by wireless module manufacturers is introduced.

The composition and design of the monitoring system: During the storage of grain, due to changes in the environment, climate and ventilation conditions, the temperature or humidity in the granary will be abnormal, which is very likely to cause grain rot or insect damage. At the same time, the quality of grain storage in the granary is also affected by factors such as gas, microorganisms and pests in the granary.

In view of the particularity of grain storage, the granary monitoring system generally takes the temperature and humidity of the granary and the grain as the main detection parameters, and the gas component content in the granary as the auxiliary parameter.

The granary wireless monitoring system mainly has the functions of data acquisition and transmission, data analysis and processing, data storage and retrieval, data table display and print output, real-time control and alarm.

The on-site monitor collects the corresponding parameters of the grain condition of the granary, such as grain temperature, warehouse temperature, relative humidity, grain moisture, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide gas content in the granary, etc., and sends them to the monitoring center regularly or according to instructions.

The monitoring center will display and store the received sampling data in tabular form, and then compare it with the set alarm value. If the measured value exceeds the set range, an alarm or voice alarm will be displayed on the screen, and the record will be printed.

At the same time, the monitoring center can issue control instructions to the on-site monitor, and the monitor can control the air conditioners, hair dryers, dehumidifiers and other equipment to cool down and dehumidify according to the instructions, so as to ensure the quality of grain storage. The monitoring center can also activate the sound and light alarm device on the on-site monitor through the alarm command, and notify the grain depot managers to take corresponding measures to ensure the safety of grain storage.

2. The main components of each part of the granary wireless monitoring system are as follows:

1) On-site detector

The field monitor is composed of temperature sensor, humidity sensor, gas concentration sensor and other sensors, microcontroller and control signal output wireless module.

2) Wireless communication terminal

Wireless communication terminals can be completed with wireless data transmission modules and wireless data transmission radio products.

3) Monitoring center

PC and monitoring management software constitute the main body of the monitoring center.
