The 14th "Neoway Cup" AIoT Innovation and Creative Design Competition, sponsored by Neoway, hosted by the School of Telecommunications Engineering (STE), Xidian University (XDU), and organized by the Science and Technology Association of STE, has concluded successfully. This year's competition centers on the theme "Smart Connected Future + Digital Qinling," guiding students to pursue technological innovation in real-world scenarios, including Qinling ecological protection and technology-driven public services. After over eight months of preparation, the competition attracted nearly 100 teams from institutions including Xidian University, Chang'an University, Xi'an University of Technology, and Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications. 20 teams advanced to the final through rigorous preliminaries, demonstrating exceptional innovative thinking and practical skills.

Over the years, the competition has anchored itself in the convergence of IoT and AI, bringing industry-led challenges into the academic setting. By continuously refining its competition challenges and evaluation dimensions, it explores the application of frontier technologies such as large AI models and robotics in areas including ecological protection and smart cities, channeling a steady stream of student talent into AIoT industry innovation. 

At the final, competing projects applied AIoT technologies to tackle real-world challenges rooted in the competition theme. One project featured an emergency protection terminal for Qinling hiking safety, field research, and ecological monitoring. Built on Neoway's LTE Cat.1 communication module and intelligent algorithms, it delivers a full-chain closed-loop system spanning sensor data acquisition, wide-area data transmission, cloud storage, and mini-program alarm push notifications, effectively addressing the challenges of locating distressed hikers and transmitting ecological data in the complex terrain of the Qinling Mountains. One project targeted the cultural tourism sector, integrating scent capture and VR visual experience as its dual core features. By breaking the sensory barriers of traditional cultural tourism, it reconstructs visitors' travel memories through synchronized visual, auditory, and olfactory interaction, delivering a fully personalized, immersive experience that can be seen and relived. The other featured an intelligent navigation system for the visually impaired, deeply integrating large AI models with multimodal perception technology. Built on a full-chain closed-loop architecture spanning perception, fusion, evaluation, scheduling, and feedback, the system identifies dynamic obstacles and complex road conditions while supporting offline operation, real-time interaction, lightweight deployment, and scalability, providing visually impaired users with precise environmental awareness and voice-guided navigation.

Spanning 14 editions, the "Neoway Cup" has established itself as one of the most influential competitions in Xi'an's university innovation scene, and as a key platform for industry-academia collaboration, talent discovery, and project incubation, offering students in communications and related disciplines a broad stage to translate theory into practice. Neoway will continue to deepen collaboration with XDU and other institutions, extending its reach across universities throughout Shaanxi Province.
